Amazing... Photographing the fly this way makes it look absolutely huge. Also the vignetting and other effects lends an air of expressionistic tragedy (yes I almost feel sorry for the fly) like a silent horror film from the '30s.

@Damon Schreiber: Thanks. I am a big fan of German Expressionist films from that era (e.g. Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Nosferatu, etc.) and wanted to capture that feeling and look. Thanks again.
That's really good, I could only look at it for two seconds due to my entomophobia, so yeah, you should be proud that you managed to get the image so in focus and stuff. :P (other photos of flies are usually not in focus so I can look at them without feeling squeamish)
Excellent treatment of a difficult subject. Despite the fact that I'm sure I'm not acquainted with the deceased, the darkened head provides perfect intrigue.
